What is coming up for the busy interior design team at Showhome Presentations? They have had a very busy couple of months getting the new website ready and revamping the warehouse in Manukau where all the furniture and accessories used in the home staging jobs throughout Auckland are stored. Now that they have accomplished that so well, they’re onto their next mission and they can’t wait!

Where Designers Go For New Interior Design Ideas

The team are off to CIFF, the China International “Fantastic Furniture Fair”. International furniture fairs feature interior design ideas from around the world for every taste, style and budget and present trends that will shape the furniture and interiors sector.

“I hope to come back with loads of great new stuff, for me and for clients”.

During March, Venus, the new owner and chief purchase officer, and Judy Dwyer, senior interior consultant, are off to Guangzhou, China for the international furniture fair where they’ll have the opportunity to see and buy furniture and accessories from more than 4000 exhibitors from over 32 countries and districts. They will fly over to meet with agents and view products from all over the world including, Taiwan, Vietnam and the USA. They will look at upholstery, cabinetry and beds, plus leading brands in accessories, flooring, fabric, lighting and artwork. International exhibitors include major brands from Italy, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, France and the Far East.

Both of them are really excited about attending.

“We expect to find a huge variety of interior design ideas for every room, every style and every requirement – from the basics all the way to designer items and luxury furnishings. We get to see what’s best and what’s next in contemporary design, luxury interiors and high end furniture”.

There will be extraordinary styles by top international furniture brands and emerging new talent in furnishings, seating, wall coverings, carpeting, accessories, lighting, kitchen, bath, outdoor furniture and more.

“We’ll get to see much more of the cutting edge, as well as a broad spectrum of indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, accessories, and even art.”

Interior Design Inspiration

Furniture fairs can be great places to find new inspiration. As designers, Judy and Sara need different products for different parts of the houses they stage, or for different homestaging projects, and at CIFF, the China International Furniture Fair, they can see more of what is available.

“You get to see what’s happening, including new materials, new kinds of wallcoverings, and new developments in accessories. I expect to come away charged up and so inspired having spotted things I’ve never seen before. I’ll be able to use new ideas, furnishing and accessories more creatively and artistically in the next house we stage for selling. Furniture Fairs feed the eye.”

“It’s definitely a valuable thing for interior designers to do. I think you have to go, just to keep up on what’s out there, and to see the emerging trends.”

Not only will Venus and Judy see the best of design and all things new, dealers and exhibitors also arrange their spaces artistically, which is very interesting from the interior designer’s perspective.
